Radio frequency Microneedling (RFM)

What is Radiofrequency Microneedling?

Radio frequency (RF) Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation procedure that uses fine needles and radiofrequency waves to create micro wounds in the skin. This healing process stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, leading to skin remodeling. Combining RF with microneedling can reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and large pores, improving skin texture and reducing the appearance of wrinkles and laxity.

When you combine radiofrequency and microneedling (RFM), you get a dual effect on the tissue for a variety of textural and ageing issues like acne scars, skin laxity, open pores, and wrinkles.

How does it work?

RF Microneedling 2
The procedure involves inserting insulated microneedles into the dermis to deliver a high-tensioned radiofrequency pulse to the targeted tissue. This causes the body to produce its own elastin and collagen fibers, resulting in firmer, healthier skin. RF combines with microneedling, so the RF heat penetrates much deeper into the skin, leaving the top layer cool. The microneedles are driven directly into the skin at a specific depth, and radiofrequency energy is then released within the skin. This results in more uniformed deep tissue warming, which stimulates the collagen and produces new collagen fibers.
RF Microneedling

The Focus Dual uses vacuum technology to stabilise the microneedles for safer and more precise treatments, especially useful around the delicate eye area.

Ultra-Fine Microneedles for Enhanced Safety and Comfort

Focus Dual uses superfine microneedles (only 0.16mm in diameter) creating a safer treatment with less bleeding and discomfort versus other devices.

Non-insulated microneedles are active throughout their length and cause high volumetric heating, providing better results, less infection, faster healing, and safer treatments.

Treatments with non-insulated needles have several advantages, including shorter procedure times, less trauma, and less downtime.

RF Microneedling

Who is radiofrequency microneedling suitable for?

Yes, younger skin that does not require lifting or tightening can benefit from Microneedling without RF, which focuses on refining pores, evening out texture, and improving overall quality.
The combination of microneedling and radiofrequency benefits older patients with laxity concerns. Because the Focus Dual has many different needle depths and intensity settings for RF, treatments can be easily tailored to each individual skin type and level of concern.

Risks and Side Effects

After treatment, slight swelling and redness may appear immediately, but should resolve quickly. Mild redness may appear within a few hours or up to 24 hours. Avoid massage and prolonged sun exposure, as aggressive treatments may cause skin flaking. Moisturizers and broad-spectrum sunscreens are recommended during recovery.
