Long Pulse ND:Yag 1064nm Laser

What is 1064 Long Pulse Laser?

The Long-Pulsed Laser is a non-ablative laser that penetrates deep into the skin to treat specific troublesome areas while sparing the skin’s surface. It has been shown to be beneficial in treating acne by preferentially targeting hyperactive sebaceous glands, which produce extra oil that clogs pores and causes acne. It targets wrinkles, fine lines, and enlarged pores caused by photodamage, aging, or other skin conditions.

The laser treatment, which thermally destroys these glands, can reduce oil production and possibly prevent future outbreaks. Furthermore, laser treatment can lessen the inflammation and redness associated with acne, resulting in clearer, smoother skin in the long run.

In a study assessing the effectiveness of Long-pulsed lasers on wrinkle reduction and skin laxity, individuals with the symptoms listed above received three sessions of Long-pulsed, 1064nm laser treatment spread equally over 12 weeks. After treatment, patients’ symptoms improved by an average of 45.1%, with the majority of patients experiencing significant reductions in wrinkles, fine lines, and pore size. Furthermore, none of the individuals had an unfavorable reaction to the medication.

How does 1064 Long Pulse Laser Work?

Lasers with a wavelength of 1064nm are employed throughout the treatment. The longer wavelength allows laser energy to be transmitted deeper into the dermis than conventional lasers, promoting rejuvenation from within the skin. The laser emits millisecond pulses, which are far longer than the nanosecond pulses used by most lasers. This enables the laser to accumulate more energy between pulses while delivering more energy to each pulse.

During the therapy, laser light is sent into the dermis, particularly targeting skin fibroblast cells and stimulating them to produce collagen. This replenishes lost collagen due to photodamage, aging, or other conditions. Among other results, long-pulsed laser treatment eliminates big pores, smoothes small lines and wrinkles, and tightens the skin for a general lifting effect.

Who is 1064 Long Pulse Laser For?

It is suitable for all skin types, especially ageing skin and photodamaged skin.

What can 1064 Long Pulse Laser be used for?

Support structures such as collagen and elastin aid to maintain volume and elasticity, which are more common in young and healthy skin.

However, as we age, the development of these support structures slows, causing the skin to lose suppleness. This can lead to:

  1. General skin laxity causes sagging around the face.
  2. Development of wrinkles and fine lines
  3. Larger pores

Exposure to UV rays can increase the effects of ageing. Long Pulsed Laser treatments can effectively reverse and prevent indications of aging.

What can 1064 Long Pulse Laser treat?

This laser firms the skin by stimulating collagen formation through skin cells known as fibroblasts. The laser also targets haemoglobin within blood vessels, which eliminates small veins and redness caused by inflammation and acne. Hence, it can treat aggressive acne and eliminates face, spider, and leg veins, lightens acne scars and rejuvenates dull, aging skin.
